Thank you for hosting the Athens Drive High School Foods II and Agriculture class in October — it was a wonderful experience. Seeing students connect classroom learning to realworld sustainability was powerful. They enjoyed harvesting green beans and beets, preparing and cooking what they harvested, petting the goats, and taking part in yoga, a nature walk, and other wellness activities. For some students it was their first farm visit, and the sense of peace and curiosity was clear.
I especially appreciated beginning by the campfire and hearing Chef Shaima’s story, as well as the presentations from others on the farm. Chef Netta’s time with the students and Leah’s yoga session were particularly meaningful. Thank you for the warm welcome and for giving our students this experience."
